Wally is a BD expert who currently leads business development, major pursuits, and proposals for HDR’s Federal program. His career spans nearly 40 years in technical, operations, and marketing positions with small to very large firms. Wally combines his experience in management, leadership, and training to develop and share creative approaches while advancing the business development practice.

Ryan has spent the last 20+ years in the AEC industry, all with Schaefer. He started out as an engineering co-op and went full time as an engineer upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati. He moved through the engineering ranks and into a leadership position focusing primarily on strategy, planning, marketing and revenue generation. In his current role as executive vice president for Schaefer, he is responsible for guiding the firm’s strategic growth and vision for the future. Ryan opened Schaefer’s Columbus, Ohio office in 2006 and relocated to Phoenix in 2018 to cultivate relationships and build the Phoenix office. At Schaefer he has been a key driver of geographic expansion, brand oversight, development of a robust marketing and business development department, and a structured, formalized annual planning process. Ryan has been a member of SMPS since 2007 and served in several board positions including president of the Columbus Chapter. He is a past presenter at Build Business, SMPS national conference and is a member of ICSC, ULI, and NAIOP. He currently serves on the board of directors of Huckleberry House in Columbus, an organization that supports youth in crisis. He lives with his wife, Emily, and two boys (Hudson 15 and Quinn 12) in Kansas City.

As an industry leader with 25 years’ experience in the AEC industry, Kate Mullaney has led business development and seller-doer teams, and strategic growth initiatives for regional and national architecture firms with a focus on the healthcare market. In her current role as Executive Vice President, Strategy & Growth at Healthcare Building Solutions, Kate is responsible for shaping business development strategy in alignment with HBS’s overall vision, overseeing the development of scalable business structures, identifying market opportunities, and driving growth initiatives that position HBS for long term success. She connects ideas and people to align expertise to the complex challenges facing healthcare clients, to differentiate and create client value.

As the energetic founding principal of BRANDiac Strategies, Stacy Stout knows a thing or two about enthusiastically building business, relationships, and brands. With more than 25 years of experience in brand strategy and marketing communications, Stacy has built integrated communications strategies for a variety of businesses in the built environment, real estate, technology, transportation, and personal care industries. Stacy‘s expertise is in transforming brand experience and driving brand relevance to help businesses continue to grow and evolve. No matter where clients roam, Stacy is an expert at wrangling the focus to marketing strategy and outcomes.
In addition to earning her bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Colorado, Stacy is a past president of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Colorado Chapter, is a recipient of the Leonardo award, served on the Society board as a Director-at-Large and was named a fellow of the organization in 2014. Stephanie Davi McNeely has been in and around the career technical education space for nearly twenty years, starting with the Sacramento Builders’ Exchange and the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Sacramento in 2003. Working with local industry leaders, ACE Sacramento became one of the fastest growing affiliates in the country at that time. Stephanie then took on the role of Regional Director, West for the ACE Mentor Program of America, before moving with her family to New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 2019, Stephanie returned to her ACE roots in the role of Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships. She is responsible for all the national fundraising initiatives, as well as the growth and development of national partnerships with design and construction firms and like-minded associations. She resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with her husband and 11-year-old son.

Oceanna Lenon, a former ACE student and top scholarship winner, had her journey take an unexpected turn during her freshman year in college, with the COVID-19 pandemic.
